Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Email support@cuvi.ioand we'll get back to you.
What does "Pending review" mean?
We've confirmed you own your work email inbox, but your employer's domain hasn't been added to Cuvi's approved list yet. A Cuvi reviewer typically gets to new domains within one business day. Once approved, your status flips to Verified automatically — no action needed from you.
Why do I need to use a work email instead of a personal one?
A work email at a real company is the strongest signal that you're who you say you are — recruiters trust it immediately. Personal emails (gmail, yahoo, etc.) work too, but the path is slower: we ask three colleagues to vouch for you. If you have a current work email, use it — verification is usually instant.
What information do recruiters see?
Companies who've requested your verification see your name, your verification status (Verified, Pending review, etc.), and the domain you verified with (e.g. acme.com). They do NOT see your personal email, phone number, or resume unless you choose to share those separately as part of an application.
How is my data protected?
Cuvi stores only what's necessary for verification: your name, the emails you've verified, your work email's domain, and your resume if you uploaded one. Phone numbers and personal emails are stored as one-way hashes for fraud detection — the raw values can't be reconstructed by anyone, including us. We never sell your data.
What does the verified badge do?
Once you're verified, recruiters at any Cuvi-connected company see a verified shield next to your name. The badge persists across employers — verify once, and future Cuvi-connected companies see your status automatically without you having to re-prove yourself. Verified candidates also skip the manual identity checks many recruiting teams do today.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@cuvi.io with the subject line “Delete my account” from the email address you used to sign in. We'll permanently remove your profile, resume, peer verifications, and notifications within seven days. If you change your mind during that window, reply to the same email and we'll cancel the request.
